It all started when our founder, Millette Bomhardt, had been hearing from parents about the declining quality of tutoring programs. Millette did some research and discovered that many tutoring programs, including the well known ones, are sacrificing quality in pursuit of profits. Here’s how:
If you’re paying on an hourly basis and your child is part of a 3 to 1 ratio of students to teachers, you’re really paying for 20 minutes of time. But, because we don’t live in a perfect world, there’s no way a tutor can divide their time up perfectly between each child. There’s always the child that needs more time and attention so that in actuality, your child may only get 8 to 10 minutes of sporadic attention. You’ve paid for 1 hour! That’s not tutoring, that’s a small class.
Real tutoring is 1 to 1, thus, Learning Brains was born.
